Been Too Long

Its been a long time since I posted anything. Lots has happened so I'll try to start catching things up. I've made a big move. After being in Kentucky for about 5 years I've moved back home to Ohio. Still unpacking and its a real chore. But I'm getting things done slow but sure. I hope to get some more cards posted that I've made as soon as I get the pics of them. I'll post them soon. I promise.

Our Family Has Grown by 2 Feet

I'm a great grandma again. And this time it's a boy. Meet Brayden. He was born Oct. 1. And look...he's already an Ohio State Buckeye fan. Go Brayden!....Go Bucks!

Gift Card Holders

I've seen many gift card holders online that I like. This was a cute style so I decided to try one of these first. It would work nicely for a guy.

I like the way the pocket is made inside.

As you can see, the card pocket swings so there is plenty of room for writing inside or adding a sentiment. I plan to make more of this style for holliday giving.

Learning New Things

My sister's daughter came to visit a few months ago along with her two sons and stayed a couple days. We always love seeing them and are amazed at how much the boys have grown since we saw them last. They're such great, well mannered fellas. Love them to pieces. While they were here, my neice gave us a private class on card making. She teaches classes at Micheals and we'd love to go to one sometime. I wanted to share what we made. I love them all but the dress and the clear card are my favorites.

These were such great fun. Hope they give you some ideas on designs to try.

August Card Swap And Contest Entry

Got the cards done for my swap. I always have a problem coming up with an idea for a school card.  Here's what I came up with.

The paper I used is from a pack by Reflections called Back To School. It's a cute pack of paper with the pieces I used plus one with letters on black and another with apples on white. The apple was an old stamp sis had so I added the A and cut them out by hand. I don't remember the brand on the sentiment stamp but I know I got several different ones at Joanns. (I love that store). Added some ribbon as the divider between the two papers so the seam didn't show. I think it turned out pretty cute.

Hi all.  I've been playing with stamping lately. I like the shadow effect you can get. I also like some of the new border punches my sis and I got. I've been playing with those also. This is my attempt of using both on a card. Think I'll donate it to a gal I know that owns the Black and Orange Cat Foundation in Ohio. You can find her here http://www.bandocats.org/ . She does great work. Maybe she can get a buck out of the card towards helping the kitties. Anyway, I thought I'd share with everyone. I really need a better cat stamp.

The Long Trip

     Wow! It's been a long time since I posted last. Long story as to why. I'll make it short. I went to visit family in Ohio back in Oct., car  broke down and I just made it home about 3 weeks ago. Car still isn't running right. Really should never have headed home with it but sometimes we must do what we must do.
     On the bright side of things, I'm now a great grandma. Got a sweet baby girl while I was on my visit. So I really can't complain. She made the trip worth while. This is my favorite picture of her and her mommy.
